Useful Cheats and Glitches in Farmville

Farmville is a fun game, and you certainly don’t need to cheat to enjoy it. Some gamers, however, do get a kick out of finding glitches in the game and exploiting them to their advantage. If you’re one of those gamers, read on to learn about some of the game’s known glitches.

Farmer Trap Glitch
With your farmer positioned on the map, build a fence around him and trap him inside. This may seem cruel, but you’ll soon see why it’s useful. Now when you start planting or harvesting, the farmer will be trapped and will do the work from his current position, saving tons of travel time. You don’t even have to use fence; to save space, trap the farmer with bales of hay.

Good Samaritan Glitch
This glitch will let you earn your Good Samaritan ribbon while helping out your neighbors. Click on a confirmed (not still processing) neighbor’s farm. On the page where you usually choose what chore to do, click on the neighbor’s farm again to load another request instead. You can load as many requests as you want before you accept. This will drastically increase the amount of Good Samaritan points you recieve.

Spy On Your Neighbors Glitch
Select one of your neighbors and go to his farm. Click one of the crops on the farm and drag it underneath the blue home button located near the bottom-right of the screen. Drag your mouse on top of the home button and wait until both the crop and the button turn yellow. Finally, click on the home button to view your neighbor’s growth percentage.

Soybean Delete Glitch
This glitch provides a really easy way to advance to the next level when you have some coins to spare. The developers don’t want anyone to know this one, and have unsuccessfully sought to fix it in the code. First, obtain ten empty plots. Now, plow the plots and fill them with soybeans. Immediately delete the soybeans with the shovel after they have been planted. This sounds counterintuitive, but take a look at the math: planting soybeans will yield 30 XP for each plot! This only costs you 300 coins each time, and you can do this as many times as you want.

Firefox Unlimited Gifts Glitch
This last exploit only works if you use Firefox for your web browser. After you log onto the game, right click on the gifts button. When the menu appears, click on ‘open link in new browser’. You can repeat the last step and open up as many tabs as you want. Select your gift on each tab, but do not confirm the transaction. Go back to the first tab that you opened. You should now be able to hit confirm. The gift will send from each of the tabs you opened, enabling you to send unlimited gifts to your friends.

Use this knowledge responsibly. The point of games like Farmville, afterall, is to have fun. Exploiting these glitches provides an unfair advantage that can ruin the gaming experience of both you and other players. That being said, exploiting known flaws in the game’s design can provide hours of entertainment. Even more fun is finding your own glitches and sharing them with other players!
